How to Feel…Beautiful

If many of you have been reading this blog since I started you will know that my self esteem is rather low and that I question everything good about my life when one thing goes wrong, small or not.

I would like to talk about beauty. Beauty comes down to so many levels and that can be spiritual beauty, physical beauty, mental beauty, etc. Now, you may be wondering what all of those mean. I believe that a person can be beautiful no matter what and that can be shown through so many things. Your intelligence can be seen as beautiful or your physical beauty or your attitude towards life. Anything can make you beautiful as long as you feel beautiful.

Now, the way that I feel beautiful is a bit superficial but it isn’t to impress anyone.

I enjoy makeup. I love to put on makeup and it makes me feel beautiful. I don’t wear makeup every day but when I do I get a sense of empowerment. I started to wear makeup because of my junior prom, I wanted to wear some nice makeup. Ever since my first taste of makeup I have become slightly obsessed with purchasing it but I do not wear it everyday. I wear makeup when I feel like it and when I have time but I also don’t really care if people see me without makeup. I lived with intense acne for about 6-7 years of my life and it was awful but I powered through it and didn’t put on makeup to cover it up.

Acne also made me feel ugly but after a long and hard consideration one day it didn’t become apparent, I no longer thought of my face of a sign of beauty in that sense.

Yes, I may have acne and yes, I might be breaking out real bad and my face may be bleeding because it is still recovering but it is my face and you don’t get to tell me that I am not beautiful.

Physical beauty is nice but it isn’t everything. So find what makes you beautiful but don’t forget to accept what doesn’t, you are human and it is just part of who you are. I mean, if you have read all the stuff I have written you will know that I am just as human as you are and you are beautiful no matter what.
