Breakfast is said to be “the most important meal of the day” and most will agree. I do not normally eat breakfast and I get along just fine but I totally understand if you do. I think that when it comes to a big event that you shouldn’t feel forced or anything to eat when you don’t feel that you should. I have seen and heard many times when someone eats before they have a big event and then end up throwing up to share what they had…sort of.
Breakfast should be light, I think, when it comes to something big because that way it won’t make your stomach turn into too many knots and you will not be grumpy since you didn’t have any food. Graduations take so long to get by and can go from 1 hour to 3 hours! Seriously, can we at least get some food while we wait for the speakers to finish? Okay, I am kidding, but just eat something beforehand, at least an hour or so before so your stomach can digest the food a bit.
Also, don’t eat things that you know will make you gassy or have bad breath, definitely take some gum or mints before you go to any big event. Everyone at graduation will appreciate your sacrifice.
Many times I go without eating breakfast during something big and end up getting a grumbling stomach but it usually isn’t so bad because whether the news is good or bad, you can eat your feelings…but not so much that you become obsessed.
