To Have a Sleeping Eye Mask or Not to?

Hello ShopaHAULics, Tiffany here and I think we should talk about how sleeping eye masks pros and cons and everything in between.

Pros

I don’t know about you but I have the worst time falling asleep, I can stay awake anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or more. I think that it is important that we all get some beauty rest and that is what sleeping eye masks help do. I can put one and sleep contently, of course, with my sound ocean waves on my phone playing too.

Cons

They can make your face really warm. I have woken up a couple of times, in my lighter cycles of sleep, with a really hot face and I will have to take it off but I can somehow easily fall back to sleep.

They can be itchy, if you have some with tags on the inside. Sure, you can just chop them off but that little sliver of tag that is still there can really cause irritation.

They fall off. I haven’t found one that has stayed on my face no matter what. I move a lot when I sleep so I can’t really say that this is a downfall.

They can irritate your ears. All of the ones I have are elastic straps that wrap around your head and if you have them placed right above the ear, over time they can really irritate your ears.

In Between

Where did my mask go? More times than not I will ask myself that question in the morning and just shrug it off until I come home from work and look for it.

My mom and sister like to make fun of me when I can’t see because…well, I can’t see. All in good fun.

I won’t say that I cannot live without sleeping eye masks and I realize I have more cons that pros but the pro of it helping me sleep generally outweighs the cons.

Do you sleep with eye masks?
