I’m Moving

A short life update: It has been a crazy time in my life but I am happy/nervous/stressed to say that I am flying out to NYC tomorrow and living there for a whole year. I have an apartment, I am paying rent, I have most of my stuff curated to be shipped out. I am living a fast paced life and I wouldn’t change that for the world. I want to see the world for what it is, live my life to the extent that I can go, and hope that there are great things waiting for me.

I hope that you will follow me on this journey. It may take a while for me to get into a groove but I am hoping that I will be able to post more and about my adventures because there will definitely be many.

xx

Review: Romwe

romwe logo

Full disclosure: I purchased all items myself after I had the itch to buy all the rompers and jumpsuits in the world. Maybe an exaggeration but, all opinions are my own.

Romwe is a website that sells clothing at a relatively decent price, think of them as an online Forever 21. Sadly, I would much rather shop at Forever 21. Now, just so everyone knows my struggle, I am 5’1″ and I am around 140lbs-150lbs and I have broader shoulders.

The website is extremely easy to navigate. The prices are what get to you. I ordered 14 items, a mix of jumpsuits and rompers that were all super cute and would have been perfect in my collection. I purchased them and about a week later, they arrived. They do ship from China so you are paying for what you get, I suppose. All items ranged from $8.00-$20.00. I got all the items in a bag that had a couple of holes in it, all items were safe. They ship through DHL and require a signature so I highly recommend contacting them to just drop it off if you know you won’t be home.

I purchased the largest sizes in all of the items and double checked the measurement sheet. When I unpackaged them, almost all of them felt like cheap material that would stick to skin like a piece of saran wrap. I did not like a lot of them for that reason and for the fact that they wouldn’t go over my shoulders. A lot of the rompers and jumpsuits had a surplice front, meaning it would create a V-neck. I only liked one romper that was well made and felt like a jumpsuit I would purchase in-store.

As for returns, I contacted them as soon as I finished trying them all on. I received an email promptly within 24 hours and I requested a prepaid label and let them know that I wanted my refund on the original payment method. I just printed it out, it deducts $5.99 from the refund which is cheaper than shipping it out on your own. My package probably would have cost $10.00 to ship. They don’t have you ship back to China, which is nice, but to a distribution center closest to your address.

Have you purchased from Romwe before? Let me know if you have any questions!

Life Update: Graduation, Summer Work and more!

34830682_10156372916390138_4466995601086611456_n

My life has changed so much and yet so little. I wanted to update you on everything that has happened. Also, the above picture is unfiltered and just me smiling and purely happy with my life at this very moment.

I graduated. Yup, you read that right. I just graduated from college after a six-year journey that has led me with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Costume Design. I am so happy to have graduated with amazing people and I hope to continue working with many of them in the future. It has officially been a little over a month it doesn’t seem real but my mind and body are truly at peace.

I am working my first real paid job. As many of you know, I have worked before and it has been minimum wage and I have also worked for free without housing or stipend. I have “paid my dues” so to speak and it has paid off. Let me know in the comments if you want to hear more about what I have done in the past in terms of work and why I chose to work where I did. I am working in Massachusetts until end of July. In July, I am leaving to go back home for about two weeks before heading to New York.

I am moving to New York. You know, I never really thought that I would move right out of school. Technically, a summer away counts, right? I am moving there for an apprenticeship that I had two interviews with and then “the call.” I am so happy that I will be able to work with amazing designers and artists to create theatre. Of course, my end goal is still to work in the film industry but this is a great way to gain contacts and really get to know the city.

Blogging tossed to the wayside. I am 100% guilty of slacking on blogging because of finals and since graduation, it hasn’t really hit me. I won’t promise weekly blogging. It isn’t realistic for me in a lifestyle of working late a lot and preplanning doesn’t seem genuine unless they are my travel posts or something like that. So, I will post when I feel like it and let it go from there. I have seen a lot of YouTubers recently who are draining themselves creatively by sticking to a schedule. I don’t want to drain myself and I also don’t want to lose the community I have created on here.

Also, head over to my Instagram (link below) to see what I have been up to and to see more of my day to day life.

Sending lots of love.

New Year, Big Plans | Taylor Swift, Todrick Hall, and More!

001 New Year Big Plans

Oh my goodness! Happy New Year to everyone. I have been missing-in-action and I do hope that your holidays were relaxing! I have so many things to tell you all in such a short post. I am trying to post once a week now and I think that it will be great in terms of keeping up with everyone and also updating you on my life.

So, what has happened? Well, if you follow me on Instagram, then you will know that at the end of the year I went to the Disney World for the first time! I am probably going to talk about it once I get through all of my Berlin Wanderlust posts. It was an experience that was magical, hot, and overall a great bonding experience for me and my family…well, aside from a small incident but we will get to that later.

What can we look forward to? Well, the biggest things I have planned are…
1. Seeing Todrick Hall in concert for the second time.
2. Going to Raleigh Supercon again and meeting one of the most influential people in my childhood, Amy Jo Johnson.
3. GOING TO SEE TAYLOR SWIFT IN CONCERT IN TORONTO.

Can you tell which one I am most excited about? I have wished to see Taylor Swift since I was listening to her singing “Teardrops on my Guitar” and cried seeing the montage video of “Sparks Fly,” highlighting the biggest moments in her Speak Now tour. I am so excited to see her in Toronto and also exploring such a beautiful city.

I also graduate college, finally! I don’t know what I am going to do exactly but I do know that I will have to figure it out eventually. I am happier that I have a semi-lighter schedule and hope to continue pushing myself rather than slacking off.

I think that was a concise rundown?

Where Have I Been?

where have I been

If you have been with me for a long time then you know that usually during the school year, I disappear and this wasn’t any different. Sadly, it school just gets really crazy and life just isn’t easy, you know? So, I decided to make a chatty blog post that will update you on what I am doing and what’s really cool in my life right now.

I have finally entered my senior year in college and it has been a long journey of 6 years (one-year hiatus working in my field). I don’t know if I mentioned it but I was given the opportunity to design the musical. The musical at my college is the biggest show in terms of budget and size (usually) aside from the opera. Well, that took over my life from the end of September until November 21. I finished it and it looked beautiful!. I have also been bombarded with my school work and also car troubles.

Since I have somewhat calmed down, I had two days worth of workshops. Yesterday, I did a workshop learning about working in Vegas and about Cirque du Soleil. I can’t say that Vegas has called my name as a child or even as an adult but I know that it is low on the list of where I want to be when I graduate. That afternoon, I went on a polaroid field trip which was a ton of fun to really get to freely express art without having to make it so refined. This morning, I went to a metal workshop and welded pieces together. I even made a mermaid fin for myself as a pendant and I know it looks a little off but it is still something that I am proud of. In the afternoon, I learned about what it is like to work in a museum and working with costumes. She is a graduate from my college and it is interesting to see that she went from scenic design to museum exhibition designer.

I am so happy to have had the chance to do a quick catch up and I will hopefully be back into the groove soon!

Let Me Up-Graze You #1: Original Fruity Flapjack & Snickerdoodle Dip

Let Me Upgraze You #1

Just in case you were curious as to what this is, this is a monthly segment I am posting on my blog, unsponsored, about my review on the snacks that I receive every month from Graze Box. I thought it would be cute to call this “Let Me Up-Graze You,” get it? Let me know what you think in the comments below! Don’t forget my Graze Box code at the end of this post.

Original Fruity Flapjack | I just finished my morning walk when I decided to try this out because it looked like a good breakfast snack. I have never had rolled oats but the light switch flipped and I fell in love. This snack is soft and chewy. The apricots add some sweetness while the rolled oats fill you up until you can eat again. I am pretty sure that there is some kind of agave or honey, correct me if I am wrong because it has a nice sweetness that I don’t think is just from the apricots. A great breakfast snack if you are on the road or if you have to devour something right before class starts.

Snickerdoodle Dip | I wasn’t sure how to feel about this but I decided that I should give it a chance. The cinnamon pretzel sticks are sturdy and go through the snickerdoodle dip without breaking. I really like that since it is the most frustrating thing when whatever starch you have just breaks in the dip, am I right? The cinnamon pretzel sticks don’t really have much flavor at all. The dip is where it is at. I think that this is a good snack to have in the afternoon or mid-morning because it is sweet but not too sweet.

My rating system is like that of Graze Box when you determine if you TRASH, TRY, LIKE, or LOVE the snack. Obviously, TRY will not be something I will rate it as.

Rating:
Original Fruit Flapjack: LOVE
Snickerdoodle Dip: LIKE

Let me know if there is something more that you would like to know from my reviews whether that is the nutritional facts or something else!

Review: Graze Box

Review_ Graze Box

Before I begin, this post is not sponsored and I am not being asked by anyone from Graze Box to do this. I just want to share my opinion about the snacks so if you are interested in any of these, then you can set your preferences. Also, there is a code that you can use to get your 1st and 5th box free. This is just a promo code that they send in all boxes. I do not gain anything other than people to talk to about these snacks! I have heard of Graze Box and know of their brand from YouTubers when they were on their rise a couple years ago. I never felt that I should spend the money on it because I didn’t feel that it fit my lifestyle. I decided to give it a try when I got a coupon from my Fabletics order. I decided, why not? I took the chance to get a sampler box from Graze Box.

I never felt that I should spend the money on it because I didn’t feel that it fit my lifestyle. I decided to give it a try when I got a coupon from my Fabletics order. I decided, why not? I took the chance to get a sampler box from Graze Box. I am keeping my subscription but only so that they charge me $13.99 every month rather than every week.

20930778_10155555026140138_1390698829_o

Yes, I definitely ate the top left one before taking this photo because I forgot! I got this box within a couple of days, which is nice! I actually already ate two of them which I will make a post about as an update. Maybe called “Let Me Up-Graze You”? Like update, but graze, get it? What I wasn’t expecting was being charged for another box so soon. Graze Box sends out snack boxes to you every week, two weeks, three weeks, or month. You set your preference. I thought I wasn’t going to get charged since I was only expecting my free sample box and then thinking about keeping my subscription.

I fixed the subscription and now I will only get a box every month. However, I feel like that wasn’t told to me beforehand because, by the time I found out I was charged, it was already too late. The reason why I am keeping this subscription is due to the fact that having snacks when I am school is perfect. These are just small enough to fit in your backpack or purse when on campus. I also think that these are great for me because when I get stressed I don’t tend to eat much. I am excited that these are all different flavors so I am not stuck with the same snacks every time.

If you break down the price of the snacks, each snack is approximate $1.74. They don’t charge shipping which is nice. Not to mention that if you really fall in love with a certain snack, they list out all the ingredients and give you a nutritional fact card that has all the other information. You can make your favorites in bulk.

The two images above are from the Graze Box that got charged to my card. I am interested in all of them. I am excited to eat them too. Once a month I will do a post that goes over each of the snacks.

Have you tried Graze Box? Which is your favorite?
