ShopaHAULic 38!! | Dreamy Mermaid Haul

Black Friday shopping was not really that fruitful for me. I purchased a Google Home Mini but that was about it. Cyber Monday was on top of it this year! I decided to purchase from Seatail Shop. I have purchased a gray mermaid knit tail from Mermaid Julie, the owner of Seatail Shop, and she gifted me a gold mermaid infinity necklace. So, when she had 40-80% off on her website, I couldn’t resist.

The thing that had me adding things to my cart left and right were the seashell headphones. They were FREE. All you had to pay was shipping. So, how to avoid that? Spend $29 and get free shipping. I fell into the hole and got two necklaces: a gold bar necklace that has “mermaid” in a script font and a silver infinity mermaid necklace. I also purchased mermaid bath bombs.

First impressions of the headphones, in case you were wondering, are that they are comfy even though they don’t come with the different sizes of silicone earpieces. The necklaces are probably going to be my favorite thing since I wear the gold mermaid necklace all the time. The bath bombs are possible the best thing for the winter since I plan to take many baths on my winter break.

Holler at ya girl if you have any questions about Seatail! I love the store and I love that they donate to charity.

This post is not sponsored. I purchased all items (aside from headphones which were free in the shop already). All opinions are my own.

Romper Me This

Whew, long time no fashion post! I haven’t posted much on the fashion side of this blog because of myself. I have been working to really accept my body for where I am and where I am going with it. I have always been self conscious about my body so when I feel good, you will know it. I just love rompers and they always make me feel good. My collection is actually growing a lot! This romper is from Primark and I got it in Berlin, Germany, when I was there costume designing a short film. It was only 8 euros! Can you believe it? Primark is like cheap side of Forever 21 prices with H&M quality.

Romper | Primark | A lovely ruffled neckline that can be off-the-shoulder or scoop neck. The vertical lines are really nice because they make me appear smaller…at least, in my opinion.
Shoes | The Buckle, Inc. | Love my gladiator sandals like no one else.
Ear Cuff | Forever 21 |
Necklace | Seatail Shop | One of my favorite necklaces! I got this as a gift from the shop owner, Julie. She is the sweetest and has a wonderful shop! Please send her some love.
Bracelet-Ring Duo | Forever 21 |
Clutch | Charming Charlie

Tea Time, Story Time #2: Mermaid Blanket!

Time for another round of review and chit chat. I have an exciting tea and review of the Seatail Shop mermaid blanket.

New English Teas Rosehip and Hibiscus

Not sure how I would feel about this tea since it was mainly the packaging that drew me in. I love hibiscus but had never experienced the flavor of it. I have to say that the coloring is a beautiful deep pink. The taste is not something I normally aim for but it is different. The flavor is kind of bitter at the end of each sip but no in an unpleasant way. I find myself reaching for it as I am drinking this after every sentence, collecting the flavors and wanting more.

Seatail Shop Mermaid Blanket Review

I purchased this blanket with my own money and offered to do a review. This is not sponsored in any way either. Honesty is the best policy.

[all images below are from Seatail Shop unless otherwise noted!]

Silver Knit Mermaid Tail Blanket Teens

I found Seatail Shop through an ad on Facebook and thought of how cool it looked. I was going through a rough time at school, preparing for a big presentation that would determine if I would be a costume designer or technician. After a successful presentation and hard work, I decided to treat myself. I saw that this blanket was on sale and purchased it. I waited about a month for the blanket to arrive but it was well worth it! I think once you receive the blanket, you will realize the work and craftsmanship that went into something like this.

Below is a gallery of photos for you to get a real life look at my blanket which I have had since April/May.

I chose silver because it happened to be the most versatile at the time, now there is purple, black, and teal! I can’t wait to see what other colors come in the future. The last image above is the way that it came packaged which kept the blanket clean and safe during its travel to me.

I have used it frequently, excluding a gap when I was in Italy and London. I have worn it for hours at a time watching television, napping, or just using it for warmth while working. I think that this blanket is extremely durable and can withstand a lot of use. I am 5’1″ so having my feet at the very bottom of the tail and pulling the rest up, it rests up to my chest level. I will say that wearing shorts and having sensitive skin can cause subtle irritation. My legs brushing against the sequins made my skin itch at times. I also have to be careful, having unfiled nails, about snagging a thread in the yarn. I would say that the yarn itself is a thin and the knit is medium. You can see your legs inside but you can’t pop a limb out unless you force it.

Overall, this blanket is a great addition to my mermaid collection. I believe that as long as you aren’t reckless and follow cleaning instructions, you will have a blanket that will last a lifetime. Side note: If you have the blanket pulled all the way up and then stand, let the tail pool around you and it is a quick escape!

If you have any questions about the mermaid tail, as me or ask Mermaid Julie who is an extremely helpful and nice woman!

Cracker Barrel Knows My Heart | Mermaids For Days! | Etsy Scammer!

Oh, my ocean, surprise! I thought that this would be the perfect time to share more mermaids with you! This all started when my friend sent me a picture of mermaids from Cracker Barrel and I couldn’t take it. I had to go. I had to find all my new friends waiting for me in the store. I had my sister stop off the highway to a Cracker Barrel and even enlisted my mom to help me out at the cracker barrel near her. So, what did I get?

During my first excursion, I got a mermaid wind chime! I could not believe that I found a mermaid that was so unique! I am keeping it for my future home, indoors, of course. Want to read a funny story? Well, I saw a mermaid wind chime hanging out and saw that it had a chip so I asked for a discount. Well, unfortunately, that couldn’t happen because they are actually supposed to just take them off the shelf. I asked if they had another and they did so I bought it. However, I walked outside and sat on the bench, opening it and seeing that it had shattered. I went back in and bought the chipped one. I had my mom check the Cracker Barrel near her and she found one that had been wrapped with care. I had her buy me that and returned my chipped mermaid. Crazy, huh? So, after so many mermaids, I finally have my beauty!

I also bought two mermaid tray plates, they look like butter trays. I also bought a “Dream” stone that I thought was super cute and felt that it would help me stay calm when I traveled abroad. I might go back and grab another stone. I also bought two mermaid tray plates, they look like butter trays. I also bought a “Dream” stone that I thought was super cute and felt that it would help me stay calm when I traveled abroad. I might go back and grab another stone. I also found a mermaid salt and pepper shaker that I couldn’t live without. I think I had seen a set for $14.99 on Amazon. I plan to fill my whole place with mermaid…no even lying.

Mermaid wind chime: $19.99
Mermaid trays: $5.99 each
Mermaid salt and pepper shaker: $5.99
Dream stone: $1.99

Knowing that I love mermaids, my mom told me to buy the mermaid lamp. I had chosen the mermaid wind chime but decided that it would be best to invest in this mermaid lamp! I thought that this was a great addition and she is actually on as I write this! I love unique mermaid items and this has not been an exception. Want to hear when an Etsy buyer was scammed?

Well, I fell into the mermaid hole after just typing it into the search bar. I noticed that a consignment Etsy shop owner had this mermaid posted as vintage. I contacted her in hopes that she wasn’t scammed or trying to scam. Unfortunately, she was the one who had been scammed and the person was claiming it was vintage even after everyone knew that it was from Cracker Barrel. You see, the person trying to scam must have asked for a lot because the lamp is only $19.99 and yet was selling on Etsy for $125. I am glad that everything is sorted now and that no mermaid lover was harmed in the process.

So, that is all of my mermaid fun for today! Let me know if you grab anything from Cracker Barrel!

Nautical Find | Dividing The Scales + Announcement

I guess that I should start off with my announcement, right? Well, I have decided that I will being creating Nautical Find content when I actually buy something that relates. I think that finding nautical items was cool and has been fun but it makes me feel like there is no substance since I haven’t purchased it. You know? So, I hope you all understand and if you find nautical items or purchase any, share them in a comment below! I would love to see them.

Would you believe that this scale divider stayed at HomeGoods, waiting for me for over a month?! Neither can I. I saw this when I was with my sister a month after I had spotted it. I personally had no use for it at the time so I told myself if it was meant to be that it would be sitting there waiting for me. The divider ran for $17.00 but had some chips where the wood panels connected. So, what did I do? I took it to the cashier and asked if I could get a discount. Sure enough, it went from $17.00 to $12.00. I couldn’t believe it.

Now, this lovely divider sits on my desk with some papers, stickers, and my hard drive tucked in there. I am sure that it will be an integral part of my organization when school starts, but until then it is a great addition to my personal items.

Rompers and Scales

I don’t know about you but rompers are quite possibly the comfiest thing to wear during the summer. Summers in the South are pretty darn hot so when I can wear as little as possible without going butt naked, I am all for it.

Sunsets And Mermaids

Fun fact: My sister was surprised I wore this shirt without a cami, like I normally do…it was really hot this day. Thank you, Southern US. I just really love this top because it is different from my other Little Mermaid merchandise.

DIY Card Washi Banner

I had just moved into my sister’s house when I knew that something had to be done to make my jewelry spot look beautiful. I found this scale coral washi tape for $3.99 at A.C. Moore and knew that this was “the one”. I have to say that my card banner is quite possibly one of my most favorite things in this world.

What you will need:
Tall washi tape
Cards (or what you would like to put up)
Clothes pins
Push pins

  1. Apply the washi tape across your desired surface and try to make it as even as possible. Even though I had a wood board that was even, it was hard to make it so no bubbles were present! My sister actually fixed it for me.

2. Cut a piece of twine that is longer than the length of your washi tape. I left mine hanging about 12″ or so longer on each end. Make sure you tie your twine or wrap it around the push pin.

3. Place the push pins tautly to match the corners of the twine, this will probably be adjusted to be tighter when you put weight from the cards. I placed mine about an inch above the corners of the push pins.

4. Take your clothes pins and attach them to your chosen cards.

5. Pin the cards to the twine and adjust the twine as needed to prevent it from sagging.

Ta-da! I think that this is so cute and I have arranged my jewelry area to look so beautiful and classy, in my opinion. I will hopefully be posting a full picture sooner or later.

Send me a pic if you do this!

P.S. If you are wondering about the wooden hanging plaque, my dad made it! He had some scrap wood and screwed it to the wall. The metal hooks are from Dollar Tree and they are super sturdy! My jewelry organizers are from Bed Bath & Beyond.
