I love music. I haven’t met someone who doesn’t. I think that music opens the mind to enter a mental space that is focused and clear. I thought it would be cool to share my favorite playlists throughout the year to introduce you to new music. I would love if you would comment your favorite playlist down below!

Playlist: Pop Chillout

I have listened to pop music all my life. However, new pop music isn’t my taste and it can be hard to find the true gems. Pop Chillout holds 75 songs that are changed around every couple of weeks (I believe). I love this playlist because it, primarily, keeps a chill vibe without overwhelming my ears with over-the-top EDM or rap. It isn’t that I don’t like those genres, it is just hard to work with that kind of music, for me. I find that I can focus in on my work and enjoy the music.

Don’t forget to share your current favorite playlist below!

Review: Bath and Body Works Bow Ties and Bourbon

26906631_10155979415990138_1445148498_o

I am so excited to share my first candle review! I think that it is good to know what kind of candles you are buying and what works within your budget range.

Packaging: I am absolutely in love with this mason jar packaging. The label is cute and it draws me in because it is both rustic and classy.

Durability: This candle lasted about 24-40 hours? I didn’t keep track of it entirely but it lasted about a week and a half. I am disappointed that the wick disappeared so that I couldn’t reach the 1/2″ (which you can see) and use it all up.

Smell: This is a light floral smell that doesn’t overwhelm a room but can make anyone who enters feel at ease. This candle is the perfect spring scent or entry to fall scent.

Budget: $12.50. You can get these on sale from $3-$6 depending on if you can get it during the semi-annual or candle sale. I would not buy these unless they were on sale, but that is usually how I treat everything from Bath and Body Works…avoid unless it is on sale!

Wanderlust #19: Berlin Hostel | The Circus Hostel

Image may contain: 1 person, smilingThis is me in the hostel bathroom downstairs. I know, cheesy, but the U-bahn map is so freaking cool!

To be honest, this was a wonderful hostel but it definitely had some pros and cons, more pros though. Upon arrival it is very open, there is a cafe to your left and a seating area on your right. The receptionist desk is a little farther in and they speak English which is nice. I had just had just had an awkward half-English conversation with the taxi cab driver, a super nice man. The whole place is very clean and has a calm and cool vibe. Now, time to break it down…

Price
I believe that it was about $27.00 per night in a larger room and a smaller room was about $36.00 a night. Of course, prices may have changed since I was there in May 2017.

Reception
Super helpful! I enjoyed talking to them when I needed help because I knew that whatever issues I had, they would happily help solve it.

Rooms
So, I ended up staying in two rooms, a 10-person room, and 2-person room. It was how it worked out with my flight schedule since my friend was booking it for me. The 10-person room was co-ed and it was okay to stay in. It was a little awkward because there was absolutely no privacy. Unlike Palmer’s Swiss Cottage in London, where curtains gave privacy, this was wide open. I also wasn’t used to sleeping in a room with men I didn’t know. The first night was mainly women with one male and the second night was a bunch of males and only me. It was fine though. I moved to the 2-person room where I stayed with one of the actresses on the short film I was working on in Berlin. She was awesome. The private room was also just perfect for privacy. There was a table and chairs and two chairs, a lockbox and dresser. My only issue with the hostel’s rooms is that there is no air conditioning, at least, not set on a cooler function. I was getting hot most nights which made it uncomfortable to sleep. So, to solve that, I left the window open. The windows are huge and let a lot of light in but the sounds of the ambulances is insane because they are louder than American ones. The noise from partiers is also a little obnoxious but that happened mainly on one night.

Bathrooms
The bathrooms are separated by male and female bathrooms, the showers are separated. The bathrooms are small but they have enough room so that you can change in the stall while the showers are a little roomier but they don’t have shelves. It was kind of frustrating to have to keep opening the door to grab what I needed, getting water everywhere.

Location
A great location if you don’t want to be around the center of the city. The great thing about this hostel is that it is on the corner of the intersection and there are so many cute shops and restaurants that make living at the hostel so easy. There is a flea market called the Flohmarkt am Mauerpark which is a definite must if you are in that area, it is about a twenty-minute walk. There is a park that is about five minutes or less from the hostel as well that is super cute. The U-bahn (subway) is right outside the hostel which is so nice and easy to get to other locations.

Image may contain: foodImage may contain: food

Food
This is a selection of the breakfast that you can get at the hotel using a voucher or paying about 5-10 euros (I think). My absolute favorite thing to get was the yogurt with the chocolate and granola mix. It was so good and refreshing in the morning. There weren’t any warm foods, a lot of cold cuts and fruit. You could toast the bread but that was the only “warm” food. Orange juice and coffee are non-refillable so you would need to pay for another glass. Water is free. You can get other sandwiches and goods which are made fresh every day from their display.

Let me know if you have questions!

Let Me Up-Graze You #2

Let Me Upgraze You #2

Vanilla Almond Protein Granola Topper | Nope. I did not like this one at all. I was excited for this because I like my yogurt to have a bit of a crunch, especially because of how filling it can be. I was playing Pokemon Go with my sister and roommate and we came back in for a break. I took the chance to try this because a refreshing bowl of yogurt with the granola sounded perfect. I took one bite and felt disappointment. The blend was bland and I couldn’t even taste the vanilla. I am not a big fan of pumpkin so I was concerned about the pumpkin seed but I couldn’t taste it either. If you just want a crunch to your yogurt, then this is it, but if you need something more than just something crunchy, you probably won’t like this. I solved it by adding a tablespoon, if not more, of honey to add some sweetness that it was missing.

Let Me Up-Graze You #1: Original Fruity Flapjack & Snickerdoodle Dip

Let Me Upgraze You #1

Just in case you were curious as to what this is, this is a monthly segment I am posting on my blog, unsponsored, about my review on the snacks that I receive every month from Graze Box. I thought it would be cute to call this “Let Me Up-Graze You,” get it? Let me know what you think in the comments below! Don’t forget my Graze Box code at the end of this post.

Original Fruity Flapjack | I just finished my morning walk when I decided to try this out because it looked like a good breakfast snack. I have never had rolled oats but the light switch flipped and I fell in love. This snack is soft and chewy. The apricots add some sweetness while the rolled oats fill you up until you can eat again. I am pretty sure that there is some kind of agave or honey, correct me if I am wrong because it has a nice sweetness that I don’t think is just from the apricots. A great breakfast snack if you are on the road or if you have to devour something right before class starts.

Snickerdoodle Dip | I wasn’t sure how to feel about this but I decided that I should give it a chance. The cinnamon pretzel sticks are sturdy and go through the snickerdoodle dip without breaking. I really like that since it is the most frustrating thing when whatever starch you have just breaks in the dip, am I right? The cinnamon pretzel sticks don’t really have much flavor at all. The dip is where it is at. I think that this is a good snack to have in the afternoon or mid-morning because it is sweet but not too sweet.

My rating system is like that of Graze Box when you determine if you TRASH, TRY, LIKE, or LOVE the snack. Obviously, TRY will not be something I will rate it as.

Rating:
Original Fruit Flapjack: LOVE
Snickerdoodle Dip: LIKE

Review_ Graze Box

Before I begin, this post is not sponsored and I am not being asked by anyone from Graze Box to do this. I just want to share my opinion about the snacks so if you are interested in any of these, then you can set your preferences. Also, there is a code that you can use to get your 1st and 5th box free. This is just a promo code that they send in all boxes. I do not gain anything other than people to talk to about these snacks! I have heard of Graze Box and know of their brand from YouTubers when they were on their rise a couple years ago. I never felt that I should spend the money on it because I didn’t feel that it fit my lifestyle. I decided to give it a try when I got a coupon from my Fabletics order. I decided, why not? I took the chance to get a sampler box from Graze Box.

I never felt that I should spend the money on it because I didn’t feel that it fit my lifestyle. I decided to give it a try when I got a coupon from my Fabletics order. I decided, why not? I took the chance to get a sampler box from Graze Box. I am keeping my subscription but only so that they charge me $13.99 every month rather than every week.

20930778_10155555026140138_1390698829_o

Yes, I definitely ate the top left one before taking this photo because I forgot! I got this box within a couple of days, which is nice! I actually already ate two of them which I will make a post about as an update. Maybe called “Let Me Up-Graze You”? Like update, but graze, get it? What I wasn’t expecting was being charged for another box so soon. Graze Box sends out snack boxes to you every week, two weeks, three weeks, or month. You set your preference. I thought I wasn’t going to get charged since I was only expecting my free sample box and then thinking about keeping my subscription.

I fixed the subscription and now I will only get a box every month. However, I feel like that wasn’t told to me beforehand because, by the time I found out I was charged, it was already too late. The reason why I am keeping this subscription is due to the fact that having snacks when I am school is perfect. These are just small enough to fit in your backpack or purse when on campus. I also think that these are great for me because when I get stressed I don’t tend to eat much. I am excited that these are all different flavors so I am not stuck with the same snacks every time.

If you break down the price of the snacks, each snack is approximate $1.74. They don’t charge shipping which is nice. Not to mention that if you really fall in love with a certain snack, they list out all the ingredients and give you a nutritional fact card that has all the other information. You can make your favorites in bulk.

The two images above are from the Graze Box that got charged to my card. I am interested in all of them. I am excited to eat them too. Once a month I will do a post that goes over each of the snacks.

Have you tried Graze Box? Which is your favorite?

Review: Alternatives to Bras

If you are weirded out by talking about nipples, then this might not be for you but come back next week and I will see you then!

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but wearing bras creates odd indentions or marks on the body. Yes, I do wear the right size bra, but it still binds me. Maybe, I am wrong? What I do know is that I love to wear nipple covers now. I would like to talk about my experience with the “chicken cutlets” and nipple covers that I have tried out. I cannot say enough how important it is to invest in nipple covers, especially since the skin is so sensitive.

The “Chicken Cutlet”
This is the very first non-bra that I ever purchased because I had a dress that had a lace back. I think that if you are new to the world of going braless that this is a great way to dip your toes in. I think that it is fine and it does stick but I do not feel the “lift” action that it claims. It would stay together in the center but the inner 1/4 of the sticky bra, the cups were not stuck to my skin at all. I think it is also not meant to stick if you have a B-cup or smaller. I think that if you have a larger breast cup size that it will do some cleavage action but still not lift. But, the material is really well made if you do invest.

Remember how I mentioned how important it is to invest? Well, I have to say that these are the worst, for me. I have sensitive skin and am allergic to latex and while band-aids have latex-free versions, I have yet to find band-aid like nippies that are latex free. I bought a 40 pack to take with me to Berlin because they are disposable but they were horrid. I ended up scratching them off because my skin became red. They are also a struggle for me to put on because they do not curve as well as I would have thought. I think that if you cut the petals to the point of the nipple fabric cover that you could make it lay flat. I have a whole bunch of some like these that I have no clue what to do with. I wish that these had worked because they are so convenient in terms of disposal.

Image result for hollywood nipple covers“The Common One”
These are probably the most common and accessible nippies that you can find in stores. They are small in terms of covering your nipple. I find that they just cover my nipple, when relaxed, and that is a bit frustrating. These do stay on no matter what. Sometimes they pucker around the edges because they are not laying right or because I put them on when my nipple is “perky.” These are not fully opaque so if your nipple is really dark, you can probably still see it through light clothing. The “outside” material has a sheen and the inside material is ribbed. They are easy to clean with warm water and soap. I let these air dry in my bathroom and use them the next day. I think that these are really affordable at $12.99. I like that they are easily accessible.

Image result for nippies skin
The Holy Grail (with one flaw)
This is by Nippies Skin and my absolute favorite. I purchased these based on reviews from Amazon. I purchased the medium color and I will be purchasing these in the future. They are the most expensive of all the options landing around $20+ but they are worth it. They cover my nipples and more. I have had mine for over 3 months now and wear them every day when I am out. They stay on the whole day, even in the worst heat. My only problem is that under certain tops that you can see the outline of the nippie which sucks when you don’t realize it until the sun hits you. I just know now to wear a bra with those tops though.

Do you like to wear nippies? What is your favorite brand? Have any questions? Leave them down below!

Review: Ulta Intensive Treatment Night Repair Cream

Ulta Intensive Treatment Night Repair Cream

It has been a long time since I have done a beauty post. I am sad to report that this product just isn’t up to par for my skin and here is why…

Ulta Intensive Treatment Night Repair Cream

Packaging: I am actually a big fan of the packaging because it is sturdy and smooth. I will say that it isn’t the best to travel with but I started to use it repeatedly after I got back from Berlin.

Durability: This went from something that was a thick kind of cream to one that doesn’t seem to blend in on my damp skin. I feel like I have to really work the product in. My biggest issue isn’t that though, it is the fact that my skin felt worse after using it for over a month straight. My skin has some texture due to acne scars from the past and my skin never felt moisturized. My final straw was when the area between my brows flaked so badly.

Facetune

Pigmentation: White but once blended in is clear. Can be streaky.

Budget: It isn’t available anymore but there may be some still roaming around in the clearance section at Ulta.

How did this moisturizer work out for you? What is your favorite moisturizer? Leave it in the comments below!
